Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Andrew Kahrs has never strayed from the soulful bends and warm twang of the music that sparked his desire to pick up a guitar and start writing at age 15. A cross-country move to San Francisco in 2014 deepened the love and longing for his southern roots, and now; at age 27, a seasoned blend of blues, country, and bluegrass can be heard in Andrew’s recorded music and live performances over 200 days of the year in the California Bay Area.
Originally inspired by the authenticity of 'outlaw' country songwriters Steve Earle and Guy Clark, Andrew's interests quickly shifted towards the blues; particularly The Allman Brothers, BB King, and Otis Redding. These artists' soulful performances left a lasting mark on Andrew, who makes a point of approaching every song through a bluesy lens, regardless of genre.
A performer since age 19, Andrew is an equally adept bandleader and solo-performer who brings energy and passion to every show. With 3 self-released EPs under his belt, including the recently released 'EP3' (2/2017), Andrew is also a dedicated songwriter with a relentless push towards honesty and simplicity in his lyrics. Having spent the last several years paying his dues as a full-time dive-bar performer, the time is ripe for Andrew’s seasoned act to hit the road and the airwaves as a new voice in traditional blues and country music.
